Published by the International Society of Automation (ISA), ISA-71.04-2013 Environmental Conditions for Process Measurement and Control Systems: Corrosive Atmospheres specifies air quality requirements to guarantee optimal performance and safe operation of electronic devices. This standard classifies corrosive gas concentrations into four grades based on their varying risks to electronic and electrical hardware, and has become a universal design reference for electronic & electrical equipment worldwide. In its latest Guidelines for Gaseous and Particulate Contamination Control in Data Centers, ASHRAE Technical Committee 9.9 recommends limiting gaseous contaminant levels within data centers to Grade G1 as defined by ISA-71.04-2013.
